Classic "Mac" Goodbar

Goodbar's Cool Beans
Nickname:Bean
Foalded: 2006

Bean is a 2006 gelding and our first venture into the crossbreed arena. He is started on the flat and going very well. He has done some cavalleti and doesn't seem to notice it so pretty soon we will start him on some crossbars. His last show he came home with blue ribbons and a reserve champion ribbon in the walk/trot division. He will mature out to horse size and will be a great hunter prospect.
Update 2010: "Bean" is horse size now and solid black and competing in the hunter arena. He always comes home with ribbons and is about ready to start over some crossbars and low fences.

John Henry
Foaled: 2007

John Henry is a 2007 gelding and has started in the hunter arena. We picked him up at the trainer on a Saturday and took him to his first show on Sunday (crazy!) and he cleaned up. When the trainer rode him the day we picked him up he sat on him cracking a bullwhip all around his head and stood up and jumped over his head while cracking the whip. You can do pretty much anything with him but he is still green. Has not started over fences yet but soon.

Rockin' Romeo
Foaled: 2007

Romeo is John Henry's half brother. They were actually born on the same day. Romeo is not going to be as tall as John Henry, but he's really well built and is going to be a beautiful show pony. He has a great personality and gives our quarterhorse geldings a run for their money. Romeo will start training in May.

Boomer
Boomer is three and has just started his show career. He is jumping now and loves it. He is around 13-3 and stocky and strong. He is a tricolor and has the map on both sides. His mom is Tidewater Surfer Chique and his dad is our Stallion, Chesapeake Powhattan's Promise. His mother is a Surfer Dude daughter.
Update: Boomer is now in Pennsylvannia and doing what he loves most- speeding. He is competing in English games with Kylie DeLuigi who also has painting ponies. Go to Painting Ponies to see this. Boomer has created his first Painting. His brother Lucky is also at Iron Horse Farm and is also painting and doing games.

Tidewater Surfer Babe
Dam: Tidewater Surfer Chique (Blondie)
Foaled: April 22, 2005

This is an exquisite filly. She is a brown and white paint and her pattern is the same on both sides. Very unusual. She is very friendly and will be a good size. Halter training begun in July.
Update: Babe went to Florida.

Tidewater Waterlu (Lulu)
Dam: Tidewater Mellenium Surprise
Foaled: May 30, 2005

Lulu is by far the friendliest pony we have foaled here on the farm. She is black and white but may shed out to be a tri-color. It looks like the band around her mid-Section may turn out to be lighter. My daughter has rolled her over when she was laying down—just like the dogs.

Update: Lulu is a therapeutic horse and a real favourite.

Chesapeake Fudge Swirl
Dam: Tidewater Premierre's Lullaby
Foaled: April 9, 2005

Fudge is going to be a BIG boy. He has some Arab influence in him and has a really nice head and powerful hindquarters. He is going to shed out to be either black or a really dark, dark chocolate brown. If he is not going to be used for breeding will need to be gelded soon. We will geld here (at buyer's expense) before delivery if desired. Weaned.

Chesapeake Rocky Road
Dam: Tidewater Autumn Skye (blue eyes)
Foaled: May 15, 2005

This is going to be a chunky boy, like his mom. He did not get her baby blues but he is almost her mirror image. He's a medicine hat, like mom. Very friendly.

Update: Rocky went to a family in northern NC and is currently a beautiful show pony.

Tidewater Maybelline
Foaled: May 11, 2004

Sire is Spur Decision, dam is Tidewater Fandango. This filly could shed out to be a beautiful buckskin like her dad. She has remarkable eyes. We can't tell for sure but it looks like they are dark blue. Ready for sale probably August or September.
Update: Maybelline went to a local family who already have Chincoteagues. She is gorgeous and will probably be trained to drive.

Chesapeake Captain Marvel
Foaled: April 22, 2004

Sire is Chesapeake Powhattan’s Promise, dam is Tidewater Fable. This colt is BIG and powerful. His markings are really flashy and he’s loaded with personality.

Chesapeake Cruiser
Nickname: Tommy
Foaled: 1997

Tommy is the son of Premierre—a beautiful, big chestnut stallion. He loves people and would sit in your lap if you would let him. He is currently in training and will be for sale. He would make a wonderful western, hunter, or Pony Club show pony. He has matured out at 14-1 plus hands and is stocky and powerfully built.

Chesapeake Warrior
Nickname: Hersh
Foaled: 1999

Hersh will be our second stallion. He is half brother to our gorgeous mare, Blondie. Hersh got off to a rocky start in life with stomach ulcers and a hernia that required surgery. However, he is now thriving and growing in leaps and bounds. We hope he will look just like his dad— Surfer Dude who is one of our favorite stallions on the island. He is rambunctious and fun to watch. Watch out for this boy!
Update: Hersh went to the same family as Maybelline. He is now a hunter show pony.

Lucky

Lucky's story is unique. He was sold at the VA Sport Horse Auction and we lost track of him until Kylie Deluigi brought him for English speed games in PA. She contacted me with questions about him and it turned out her mom fell in love with him. So, Kylie needed another horse. She ended up buying Boomer and now they compete together.

We are going to downsize a bit and offer the following mares for sale. None are trained to ride yet as they have been breeding mares.

Tidewater Ms. Bee
Foaled: 2008

Ms. Bee is a 2008 filly from Tidewater Millenium Surprise and totally laid back. She is very dark bay and white and getting prettier by the day. She will mature out to probably around 14 hands and has wonderful conformation. We will probably start training with her in the fall. She's still growing.

Tidewater Dune Buggy
Foaled: 2007
Nickname: Bug

Bug is a 2007 filly. She's not as large as our other ponies. She has unique coloring and is very smart and curious.

Tidewater Fandango
Foaled: 1999
Nickname: Fanny

Fanny is a 1999 mare from the island. She is a very sturdy, large mare with beautiful conformation. She is a good mover and would make a great hunter or western show pony. She is about 14-1 (will have to measure her again) and solid as a rock. She has had about 30 days under saddle with a trainer several years ago so it would be easy for her to start again. We are selling her because she is our stallion's sister and we have to go elsewhere to breed her. If I had the time to work with her I would keep her. She's one of my favorite mares, and I hate to see her just sit around. She is very engaging and enjoys the company of people.

Tidewater Autumn Skye
Skye is a 1999 mare off of Assateague Island. She has blue eyes and is quite striking. She has had one foal and would make a great show pony with proper training.
Update 2010: Skye is in Virginia and doing 4H and Pony Club with a darling little girl. She is doing awesome.

Tidewater Pat's Flo
Flo is a 2002 mare off of Assateague Island. She is almost a horse and incredibly well built. We will breed her this year if she does not sell. Her color is beautiful - dark liver chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. She is not trained to ride yet but is well mannered. Leads well, stands for the farrier, accepts shots, etc.
Tidewater Mellenium Surprise
Millie is a 2000 mare off of Assateague Island. She is a stunning liver chestnut with a light flaxen mane and tail. She is large and has a wonderful, loving personality. She has had two foals. Lulu is now part of a therapeutic riding program. Ms. Bee, her second foal, is a bay and white paint and is also for sale. She is a 2008 filly.
